FOCUS CONSTRUCT is a highly experienced Queensland company

servicing the commercial, retail, hospitality, clubs/pubs and fitout industries.

Our hardwork has been recognised with 18 Industry awards, including

6 Master Builders Awards and 8 Australian Institute of Building Awards (both state and national).

The company was formed in 2006, by two brothers, Paul and Mark Glover

and was called Focus Commercial Interiors.

The company focused on internal linings, joinery and carpentry. In 2012,

and due to continued success, the brothers changed the name to Focus Fitout Specialists.

Mark and Paul had expanded the business to offer their clients a complete

fitout experience and a new name was required to reflect this business evolution.

As part of the next growth phase, Todd Dunlop was brought in as Managing Director

and 100% shareholder in 2021. Todd brings 20-plus years of experience, delivering projects for Tier 1 and Tier 2 builders in Brisbane, Melbourne and internationally. Todd also holds his open builder’s license, which allowed the company to expand its offerings to our clients.

Focus Construct is now able to offer our clients a complete building experience from new build construction, fitouts and refurbishments.

As part of this recent evolution came the name change and rebrand to FOCUS CONSTRUCT.

The new brand focuses on collaboration and joining forces to build on Focus’ reputation as a builder that delivers with a solution based approach, while collaborating

with clients and making best for project decisions

Focus’ has an in-house Quantity Surveyor that can assist our clients with pre-construction budgeting and cost management. We are also experienced at building to a budget and sticking to this budget. Our strong experience, market knowledge, supply change relationships and innovative construction techniques are uniquely placed to develop a solid cost-plan that will be achieved and delivering the highest quality.

we know what it takes to deliver a project on time, on budget, to the high-quality and safety standards. It comes from many years of experience in a multiple markets. Our teams follows key principals of rigorous project reviews that includes programming, design management, risk identification and control metrics, quality control processes, cost planning and highest focus on safety. Our director is hands on and has oversight on all projects.

Post Handover Management

At Focus we know that once a project achieves practical completion, doesn’t mean the project is over. We are meticulous in our handover manuals and processes to ensure our clients are comfortable with their new building. Often this involves training sessions, fine tuning of services and simply answering questions. In addition, we aim to complete our defects before handover to ensure we minimize disruption to our clients operations.

Todd Dunlop

Managing Director

Managing Director. Todd is the Managing Director and Owner of Focus Construct, with more than 20 years experience in the construction, fitout and property development industry.Todd is a chartered professional builder (MAIB), holds an Executive MBA, a Degree in Construction Management (1st Class Honours), Cert IV in OHS (Safety), Diploma of Building.

Ash Joined Focus in 2009 as a Carpenter and worked his way up to a Site Manager

Jeffrey Gull

Senior Project Manager

Senior Project Manager. Jeff is Senior Project Manager with 35+ years experience in the construction and fitout industry.

Simon England

Commercial & Contracts Manager

Simon is an experienced Commercial and Contract Manager, with over 25 years working for Tier 1 and 2 builders in Australia and the UK. Todd and Simon worked with each other at John Holland building the $800m Enoggera Army Barracks project in 2011. In 2024, Simon joined Focus Construct and heads up our Commercial and Contracts team.

Director - Client Services

Director of Client Services. Ben is our Director of Client Services and has over 20 years experience in broad construction sectors.

Stuart Whittle

Assistant Project Manager

Stuart is our Assistant Project Manager and has several years of experience in the new build, fit-out, and residential field. Stuart originally started his construction career as a qualified carpenter and now brings a keen eye for detail and practicality to his work that is highly valued

Hendrik Boshoff

Senior Estimator

Senior Estimator. Hendrik is our estimator who is experienced in pricing small fitout projects all the way to $100m mixed used developments.

His new build experience includes schools, high rise office buildings, government, industrial, retail, airports and the like. Henrik’s keen eye for detail and building strong relationships across the board, ensures that Focus are obtaining the best pricing available for our clients

Walter Samuels

Carpenter

Walter is our experienced go to carpenter with over 40 years of experience, Walter has seen it all. Walter is great with our clients and is often found working in live operating environments

Sunny

Chief Morale Officer

She was originally employed as our Head of Security, however she prefers to lick people and lie on her back for tummy rubs.

Stephen Cannon

Assistant Project Manager

Steve is our Assistant Project Manager and has several years of experience in the new build, fit out, and engineering construction field. Steve is a great team player and holds a Bachelor of Urban Development (Construction Management) from QUT .

Gareth Purcell & Jae Schofeild

Carpenters

Gareth & Jae work with Focus Construct on a variety of our projects and between they bring a wealth of knowledge and know how.

Harrison Muller

Site Manager

Harrison is a qualified carpenter with his QBCC Site Supervisor licence. He is currently completing his Bachelor's Degree of Construction Management. Harrison has a key eye for detail and excels at leading a site team.
